problem with orchstral scors
I think muse score is great notation software but there a problem that I have that really annoyed me.
I'm working on a big orchstral score and it has a number of solos and movements. if I want to add a violin solo for a couple of measures I need to add a new instrument to the score and find away to hide. so I go and right click on the staff go in the staff propities and select instrument to hide it when it's empty. that's a solution but if in the second moment I want to add another violin solo so I need to redo all the prosses undo do the hiding the instrument add the solo and hide it again.
so than I found out about another solution to hide empty measures in the styles setting under score setting. if I push that it hides all the instrument that are empty and I don't want that to happen I just want to hide a setting thing. and even if I cope with that I still can't leave a bar empty in the middle of the solo cause it will hide it, so then you think you'll just left click on the measure select measure properties and click on the tick box to show the empty measure, but that doesn't work and if it did do I really need to do that for a crazy amount of measures it's absurd amount of wasted work.
so this is my proposition make a thing that you can select where and when you want your instrument to show for example flute from bars 1-60 and 70-80. that would be wonderful and a amazing and highly appreciated.

You can use the same Solo Violin for the Solo in the second movement: Just switch to continuous view and add notes to the Solo Violin and it will show up in page view again. Is that what you need?

thank you for replying I'll check in my score
It's unclear if you want to add an instrument to play a solo, or have an instrument play a solo. One way to have a solo violin would be to do an instrument change (found in the Sound and Playback part of the manual) at the point of the solo. It is a procedure that changes a violin section staff to solo violin. Then change it back to section sound.
If you add a staff all kinds of formatting problems can occur.

I need to have a violin solo that is sperate from the violin section so I can still have them play. it's an accompanied solo

Is it played by an instrument in the section or is it a new player?

So it's an instrumentalist in the section.
Leave the other parts as rests and apply hide empty stave. You can set the minimum number of staves so individual measures aren't hidden.
It seems you are writing other parts as well ... you may have to complete them. If you are in process, you can always use multi measure rests temporarily.

Are you working on a "part" or the score?

okay so you can see from the tchaikovsky swann lake he wanted to add a solo for the first cellist and the concertmaster while the orchestra is still playing. he did it temporarily so this is the problem adding a a part just for the solos that's is what I'm trying to do. I just don't want to hide all the other empty instruments that don't play

I don't see any problem to achieve this in muse score, accept maybe when it comes to dealing with the single parts...
Create an additional stave for the violin solo. Then inside the staff settings set it to always hide when empty. You can determine for each individual stave, weather it shall hide when empty or not. Don't need to use the global setting...
