Adding Quarter Rests for no reason.
I am attempting to Create a very basic 4/4 piece, but the program keeps adding Quarter Rests as I add and remove notes to play around with what sounds good. The rests cannot be removed for some reason and make each bar longer than 4 beats, which is very frustrating.
Is there a way to turn this off?

Pay attention to the note entry mode: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/note-input#insert-notes
the blue plus will appear above the measure -> Measure duration is automatically updated as you go.
You probably have inadvertently ended up in Insert note entry mode. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/note-input#note-input-modes for how to change note input modes and select the default Step-time mode.
Or just possibly you held CTRL+SHIFT while entering a note. That inserts it rather than overwriting what is at the cursor.

This fixed half the issue but now my Measures are Irregular and I can't remove the extra rests. Are there ways to fix this or do i need to start an entirely new project?
