Importing midi drums from non standard midi
I'm trying to import a midi file for drums however when I open it in musescore it imports it as a piano, I'm guessing the midi is not on channel 10/not standard. I tried selecting drumset in the mixer toolbar but it still plays as a piano and looks funky.
The midi file is coming from the phase shift game (or perhaps from the "editor on fire" program)
My overall goal is to be able to import midi from this guy "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uAF7HlnI8A&ab_channel=sodamlazy", to drum transcriptions, with only minor editing/note changing.

Can you get this in some other format. Midi isn't best for MuseScore.

I don't think so
The only other format is the "editor on fire" program extension (.eof) which isn't accepted by Musescore, I was able to export the .eof file to a .gp5 file but I think it only grabbed the guitar?

What are the drum sounds supposed to be? When I play the midi file in Media Player, it almost sounds like piano.

the song is the youtube link, I'm guessing the midi file has multiple instruments that are all being played as piano so would probably be hard to discern what the drums are meant to be by listening to the midi.
You can copy paste from a piano staff onto a drum staff. Then right-click a single note in there and use Select > More to select all same pitched notes in the same staff. You can now use up/down arrow to make them cycle between the defined notes of your drumset.
