Playback severely stutters/lags when only one staff is playing

Playback is fine when multiple instruments are sounding at once, but when only instrument plays at once (such as in a part view or when placing notes on a staff) playback is incredibly laggy. This makes editing a pain, since it lags every time a note is placed, and playback for solo works also stutter. This is consistent across Muse Sounds, MS Basic, and VST plugins. Changing the buffer size does not make a difference.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 - Quad-core, 3200Mhz
Memory: 20GB
