MuseScore4 crashes immediately after installation

I tried installing and reinstalling a number of times and have not been able to use MuseScore at all. The installation seems to go OK but when I try to open MuseScore 4 I get a little empty box at the bottom of the screen. I tried loading from the exe. file and from a .mscz file and nothing works. I am on Windows 10. MuseScore 3 works perfectly.
Very disappointing. MuseScore 4 sounds great, wish I could use it.
