Toggle for switching between playback profiles (MS Basic and MuseSounds) not working

The toggle for switching between playback profiles (MS Basic and MuseSounds) is either not working or I misunderstood how this is supposed to work.

When I create a new score (e.g. String Quartett) all part are configured to MS-Basic. Clicking the thre dots in the upper right corner of the mixer brings up a context menu where I choose "Wiedergabeeinrichtung" (playback setup in english?). There I can choose between profiles MS Basic and Muse Sounds. Changing the profile to Muse Sounds however does neither switch existing parts to Muse Sounds nor does it affect newly added instruments. What am I doing wrong?
