Musescore 4 - Transposing instrument pitch wrong
Trying to test out Musescore 4 with a quickie for a brass quintet.
I am expecting the notation of the Tuba to play sounds that are an octave lower than written, but I am hearing identical pitch to Trombone. What's the go here? Is there a way of indicating a stave should be played at a different pitch to what has been written?

As far as I know tubas are non-transposing instruments.

My bad - I figured it out - using a different clef, that gets it working as expected.

Tubas can be treated as transposing instruments. Brass bands (British ones at least) conventionally use treble clef transposing in Eb (down a 6th and an octave) or Bb (down a 2nd and two octaves.) All valved instruments then use the same fingering for written pitches.
