MIDI remote control: note durations OK, but Rest not entering a Rest like Zero does.

I have assigned the lower keys of my Midi keyboard to enter note durations, which has worked well for me in MS3. Trying the same in MS4, rests cannot be entered in the same way: the rest icon goes blue when the assigned key is pressed, but the rest is not entered. However, zero on the laptop keyboard works as expected.
