Can you explain from which instrument you changed to which other?
There are only a few instruments that are called G instruments. I have found, for example, ocarina, dizi, quena.
I don't know anything about these instruments, but it seems that their notation is always in concert pitch.
The only exception is a horn in G. This uses a transposed notation in G. For example, if you change from a trumpet to a horn in G, you get a new key.
