Project
1) create a new score for soloist 5 string electric bass tabs
2) try adding a key signature (ie 4 sharps)
also
3) try change the clef from TAB to bass clef
4) try again to add key signature (any)
5) repeat the above without time signature
Result: the signature doesn't show
Expected: I'd expect to see a tab or a bass clef with the key signature (with or without the time signature)
My system:
OS: macOS 12.6, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.0.1-230121751, revision: 9b70a8c

As far as I can tell Tab staves are not having key signatures, that's by design
3) try change the clef from TAB to bass clef
This is not supposed to work, you'd need to change the staff type
thank you for your comment. I think this can be closed then. It could be a feature but it's definitely not an issue.
Key signatures in tab staves are just impossible, as the lines represent strings, not pitches, and the spaces represent nothing

ok, thanks. What's the recommended way to indicate tonality in MuseScore tab notation's ?
Maybe a staff text or a chord symbol
Ok, thank you.
