Problem opening MuseScore 4 on Mac (quits unexpectely)
Hi, I just installed MuseScore 4.0.2 on a new MacBook Pro running Monterrey OS. Every time I try to open it, I get this sequence:
(1) MuseScore dialog saying the program is starting
(2) Series of windows showing inactive plugins in the system (Slate Digital and other providers) that require iLok activation
(3) Error window: MuseScore quit unexpectedly, after I click the QUIT button to skip activating the inactive plugin (no matter which inactive plugin it is that pops up first)
How can I make it so that MuseScore 4 doesn't search for plugins upon opening? Or what's the simplest way to resolve this error?
There are no issues opening and running MuseScore 3 so I'm still using it for now, but I'd like to switch over to 4.
Thanks for any help with this

Hi there, I am also going through a same sort of situation. My OS is Big Sur version 11.6.1.I had installed Musescore 4 few months back and it was working properly.I made a full score for one of my pieces last week. But now all of a sudden, when I try to open a new file it crashes.Like you said it opens up and shows loading and then crashes. The weirdest thing is that I'm still able to open the project file of the score that I completed and I'm able to play it full. But if I try to open a new file it won't open. Can someone help with resolving the issue on Mac?? I had really liked the new features on Musescore , the sounds ,the easiness and was looking forward to work on it .
I have the same issue (with different 3rd party plugins)
I have the exact same issue, no plugins installed.
Macos 14.3, Musescore 4.2
Isn't 4.0.2 an old version. MS is at 4.2.1 today. Try to install the newest version instead.
