How do I change the default color of rehearsal marks so they are red

Properties allows me to change to color of the border but not the color of the text
I used to be able to get a black border with red text

Try saving as Style (Format/Style/Text->Rehearsal marks).

You can automatically load a style file at score creation, in Preferences

Save your style settings as a Style File from Format>Save style. This will save the styles in a .mss file. The default location is ... Musescore4/Styles
Then in Edit>Preferences>Score in the Style box, select that .mss file you just saved.

FWIW, I would strongly advise against changing default styles in such a specific way. That sort of thing is more suited to specific templates, so all scores of that given type get that style, but other scores get created normally.

Thank you for your suggestion. Actually all of my scores are of the same template and I'm just trying to make MS4 work products the same as the 2000+ I already have. I'm glad flexibility is designed into the system to do this.
