Sound Fonts don't register in MS4
I am running MS4 in LinuxMint. I used Muse Hub to download the Muse Sounds they were placed in the folder /home/ian/Documents/MuseScore4/SoundFonts, but within that folder they are: /home/ian/Documents/MuseScore4/SoundFonts/Muse Hub Downloads/Instruments/ and then all the folders of the various groups and also a ".instruments" file.
In the Preferences of MS4 I have: - Folders - SoundFonts: /home/ian/Documents/MuseScore4/SoundFonts
However, when I use the mixer and try to select a Sound Font there is nothing there. What must I do to have access to these instruments?

I don't know about Linux, bot other OS's go to View/Playback Setup/ Activate Muse sounds.

Thank you for the suggestion. I just tried to do that but "Muse Sounds Inactive" was greyed out and so I couldn't activate it by clicking on it.
Muse Sounds are not SoundFonts and don't go into that folder. Go back to Muse Hub, remove the sounds, then then go to settings and reset the folder back to the correct then set the default location for Muse Soundsdefault location (normally /srv/muse-hub/downloads), then reinstall the sounds.

Or put the location of MuseSounds in the hidden file
/var/lib/MuseSampler/.config
Default
/srv/muse-hub/downloads/Instruments/
But you can put your files anywhere you like on Linux.

Thank you for your responses. I tried them, but to no avail. However, I deleted MS and downloaded MS4.1 today and all is working as it should. All is now well. Thank you muchly for your assistance.
p.s. the MS Cafe was particularly excellent today, covering a lot of material succinctly and clearly. I gleaned much. :)

Glad you got it working and found the Café useful!
