MuseScore 4.1 release candidate is ready for testing
Hi all,
We are pleased to announce the MuseScore 4.1 release candidate!
Please download builds for your respective operating systems here:
macOS
https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/download/v4.1.0-rc/Muse…
Windows
https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/download/v4.1.0-rc/Muse…
Linux

We are targeting a release date of Tuesday or Wednesday next week. Please give this a solid test over the coming days so we can be sure there are no unexpected surprises lurking in the shadows.
Please note:
- The release candidate has been built in stable mode, which means it will replace any existing version of MuseScore 4 you have on your computer.
- The stable version of Muse Hub has now been updated with the latest version of musesampler, so there is technically no longer a need to use the Hub beta when testing MuseScore 4.1.
You know what to do! Thank you so much for your efforts and contributions thus far.
The MuseScore team.

Thank you very much!!
Sweet!
Thank you for the RC.
I see there is still no way to control what soundfont sound is being used for an instrument. I have been exploring ways to split soundfonts, and it's a can of worms. I think I'll stick with 3.6.2 for now.

I got and compiled Marc's soundfont splitter, which is very nice!
On RC 1, if I change the instrument with text/change instrument, and specify a new soundfont for the instrument change, the software isn't honoring my request.
If I'm posting these in the wrong place, please advise.

Yeah this is something we were hoping to implement for 4.1, but unfortunately ran out of time.
The designs are all ready, so it will hopefully be in 4.2.
Thank you for your patience!

Not for me, I'm on Linux.
It happens that I started working on a concert band recently. I hope 4.1 can improve the experience. Can't wait for the release!
Any chance the anchor redesign will make the release for 4.1 or is it being pushed back to 4.2?

Unfortunately it hasn’t made it to 4.1 ☹️
How soon is it coming out? Tomorrow?
