Muted note ending early

Hi, I have been writing a really beefy score for a bit and I just got to the horn parts and when I muted a note for french horn I noticed that instead of the note playing for the full three beats the duration shortened to a half note but I need the full duration since it's a held out fermata. How do I fix the duration back to normal?
