Exporting WAV. files to SD card on Zoom H4nPro
Hi. I've used Musescore to write up scores as backing tracks and then transferring the recorded WAV. file to an SD card for my Zoom H4n Pro. Since the recent Musescore upgrade the WAV. files are not being recognised on my SD card. I've re-formatted the SD card, and even restored factory settings on my Zoom recorder.
I've recently transferred an old WAV. file (recorded 2 years' ago) onto my SD card and it is recognised and works, so its something to do with the format of the original files being recorded. Does anyone have a solve for this?

Sorry, should have said that I used iMAC using MACos Ventura 13.4.1 operating system.

Does the SD card recognize other formats like mp3 or image files? I just reformatted an SD card to NTFS and transferred a recent WAV, and it worked.

I don't think it's an SD card problem, but the H4nPro doesn't play WAV files created by Musescore that you load onto the SD card.
I have an older ZOOM H1. That one insists on a very specific file naming convention.
If I copy "abcxyz.wav" to it, it will not play. If I rename the file to "ZOOM0001.WAV" then the H1 plays it.
Maybe this is problem of DottyDiva?

Hi there and thanks for replying.
I've transferred MP3 files onto the SD card and still the same problem. It says "File Invalid" if I want to insert it into a MTR track. When I search the SD card (on the H4n Pro) the .wav file is still there but I cannot access it, re-name it. The only thing I can do is delete it (which defeats the problem)...

One rather obvious difference is .WAV vs .wav. Perhaps H1 is case sensitive.

No, it is not. I have just tried it: File names and file extensions are both case-insensitive. The name 'zoom0001.wav' works as well. But it must correspond to the structure 'zoomXXXX.wav'. Names, which had been created by the H1 use capital letteres.
It may well be that the H4 is less sensitive. It has much more possibilities than the H1, thus also a more extensive firmware.

There are some differences a) between H1 and H4 and of course b) some between MAC and Windows.
My H1 behaves as simple USB stick aquivalent if I connect to my Windows computer, So I can transfer files in both directions.
According to the H4 manual the default file names are e.g. STE-xxx.wav (xxx is a three digit number).
So rename a sample WAV file to e.g. STE-000.wav on you PC and then transfere it to the H4.
Does any other WAV file work, which was not genereated by Musescore?
