Triplet quarter notes corrupting score
Hello!
I am using MuseScore 4.1.1 and was transcribing a guitar solo that has 6 triplet quarter notes in a 4/4 measure, Although MuseScore lets me correctly enter them, it then says the file has been corrupted by having an apparent 6/4 measure in 4/4 time when I try to save it. It also gives the same error when I reopen it and also shows a ghost dotted half note rest that was not there when I entered the notes. This seems like a bug to me, but perhaps there is something I am missing?
I stripped the score down to just two measures and attached it here. I very much appreciate the help.
Thanks!

The problem revolves around the fact that your two triplets are overlapping (not separate), so the C♮ belongs visually within both triplets. How did you manage to create this situation?
If you insert a couple of empty measures, you can copy across the undamaged parts. Then for the Electric Guitar you can create two separate triplets (each starting from a half-note rest), and enter the required notes. Finally you can delete the remaining empty measure and the corrupted measure:

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your extremely helpful reply. When I had originally entered this score, I created the triplets exactly how you described (two half note rests each split into triplet quarter notes), yet MuseScore gave me an error when I saved the score and subsequently produced a corruption that causes it to display odd things such as what you show in your screen shot.
After reading your post I did exactly as you suggested (added blank measures, copied the good parts, deleted the bad measure, then manually entered the triplet notes again), and I still got the corruption error. I then started experimenting with deleting more and more of the score, to the point where I had deleted ALL the score and it STILL has the error. So something in the file itself somehow is corrupted independent of the notes. I attached the corrupted blank score file and a screen shot showing the error.

What is interesting is that I could open the file you attached (presumably based off the file I uploaded) and it gave no errors, so that is a bit of a head-scratcher.
Thanks for your help,

I looked at the YouTube for this issue and indeed, it appears to be the same problem. Thanks, cadiz1.
