Voice 1 and Voice 2 sound at different dynamics during composition

I just stumbled onto this oddity. Not a showstopper, but wondering if it's reproducible. I'm using the latest Musescore release, 4.4.4 on a laptop running the latest MS Windows 11 Home.
I enter notes in Voice 1, then go back and select the note where I want Voice 2 to start, hit "N" to begin note entry and click Voice 2. The cursor turns green as expected. Note entry goes as expected but as I add notes they are noticeably louder, like 2 or 3 dynamics louder, than Voice 1 was. After entry, clicking the Voice 1 and Voice 2 notes, they still sound different.
If I save the score and close the app, then reopen the score, the two voices sound at the same dynamic.
The odd dynamic difference happens on first composition by default. It resumes when I start composing again after opening the saved score. It happens whether or not I have added a dynamic mark before starting to compose. It seems to happen whether I open the score from Windows File Manager or from the Scores page in the app.
The difference goes away after playing the score.
I checked the properties of the dynamic mark and noted that it can be set to apply to specific voices. But it was set to "All".
