Using downloaded midi file on external device.

Hi
Don't know if my question is something that can be answered here, but here goes. I have downloaded midi files off the Musescore site which I can access Through various apps on my computer but if I try to transfer the file to a USB stick to use on one of my keyboards I get a message saying :
'-The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “” can’t be read or written.
(Error code -36)'
Can anyone throw any light on why this is?
