In MuS 3.6.2 there are the functions "mute" and "open" in the text palette. Select a note and apply "mute" so that the trumpet is played muted until you later set "open".
I don't use MuS 4 and I can't find it in the handbook.
For those who were looking for it and cannot find "mute" in the text palette, it could because the internationalization. In spanish, the text is "sordina". [Yup, it happened to me :^) ]

in MS4 ( I don't use ) https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/mixer#open-mixer use the arrow on the top above the M of MUTE to open the different voices of an instrument (violin trumpet)
