Note Input - Computer Keyboard vs MIDI Keyboard (Piano layout)

Noticed in a couple of other threads that Maestro Sabatella is recommending folks not use MIDI keyboards (piano layout) and instead use the computer keyboard for faster note entry. Having just written close to 25 Master Rhythm arrangements in MS3.6, I developed a pretty quick system via choosing my note duration and then playing in the parts on the keyboard, especially for thick "jazz" type chords of 4 or 5 notes, which can be "plunked" right in with the MIDI keyboard, I'm wondering how this can be true. However I'm open to change and learning so I'm looking forward to trying this. I want to be using "best practices" when I use MS4 for my chart creation and arranging. Any comments?
