How to hide/reduce certain staff lines while let others visible?
Hi, I just want to simplify the staff so that the children won't be scared of too many lines.
I have reduced staff lines with the "Staff properties" option but it is not exactly what I want.
Is there any way to hide/reduce certain staff lines?
Like I just only want to hide the line 2 and 4, make it invisible, and let only the 1,3,5 visible, so that when I add a G4 note, it would float in the space between line 1&3 without any ledger lines (like in the picture attached).
Thanks for your help!

The lines are considered as 1 at the top then 2, 3 ,4, 5 below this for a conventional staff. For a staff with more lines, they get added at the bottom and for one with fewer lines, they get removed from the bottom up. As far as I know there is no simple way to achieve what you want without resorting to covering lines up with background-colored rectangles etc. You might achieve the appearance you seek by using three lines and making them further apart then moving the noes up or down into the desired positions.

I tried drawing rectangles covering lines but it seems not working, because the rectangle just covers everything under it, so I need to draw 2 rectangles for every note which makes it too much work to do.
Making lines further apart also make the notes bigger, so no note floating like I want. Because I also so want to make a whole song consisting of C, D, F, G, A but just only 3 staff-lines (1,3,5).
Thanks for your help anyway!
Hope someday they will develop this feature!

"Making lines further apart also make the notes bigger, so no note floating like I want".
I presume you increased the Scale as that makes everything bigger. If you increase the Line distance the lines are further apart but the notes remain the same size. A lot of effort, though, as positioning the notes would be tricky and leger lines would appear when you don't want them etc.

I’ve tried again and got the floating G4 (which is actually a F4), but then I could not move the note to touch the line to create the F4, still I couldn’t get the result like in the attachment.

Maybe you did it wrong. Rightclick on the staff, Staff/Part properties. Reduce lines to 3.
Click "advanced style properties" in the same dialog and set line distance to 1.5

Thank you for showing me the way to do it! I did it wrong. But sadly this method still can’t make the staff like I need, because I need to put 3 notes in the space, not just 1, like in the attachment

That’s not what you originally asked for:
“ Making lines further apart also make the notes bigger, so no note floating like I want. Because I also so want to make a whole song consisting of C, D, F, G, A but just only 3 staff-lines (1,3,5).”
I imagine you could fake it by using notes from the Symbols palette and treating them like graphics, but then it might be easier to do the whole thing in a graphics program.

Sorry for stating it not so clear.
It is really easier with a graphics program or even hand-writing, but it is still a lot of work when you want to make a multi-page scores. Also I still want to access in the scores library of Musescore and print my fav pieces from there. So I need a way to modify the scores into “simplified staff”.
I have made a request feature of “toggling invisible/visible the specific lines”, but I don’t really think that they would give it a chance.
