Issues with "Style: Hide empty staves" option

Hello all, and happy new year!

Whenever I am working on a piece that requires multiple instruments, I usually turn the option "Hide empty staves within systems" on while turning the option "Don't hide empty staves in the first system" off. This way, my PC can "digest" the score easier and faster, as it sometimes has trouble managing large scores.

A few weeks ago, however, I started having issues with this.

Originally, this setting allowed me to see the full score (including empty staves) when pressing the "Continuous View" option. This no longer happens, and the empty staves do not appear unless I turn off the "Hide empty staves" option (which in turn makes the systems on the first page "overflow"). Is there any reason why this happens?

(P.S.: I am currently using MS 4.2.0)
