How to dictate default behaviour of navigator, mixer, timeline?
I began using the navigator a few days ago, then I realised that the timeline was waaay less laggy, so I opened that one and clsoed the navigator. However, now, anytime I reopen the project, both are open and the timeline is fully up instead of showing just the upper half with the "features", which is how I normally set it. As a resuult, the score is essentially nonexistent.
Also, with the timeline open and docked, the mixer always opens as docked, and swells up to cover the whole screen in order to show the whole fader, with this new proportion between score and bottom panel docking remaining even after the mixer is closed.
How do I change both of these?

Yup, sounds familiar, mine also open zoomed in, but not only when opening a second file. And if it's the navigator causing it, then that once again poses the problem: how do I get rid of it?

Well, until it's fixed, disabling Navigator solves the problem.

No, I mean, how do I disable the navigator? That was the point of my post to begin with, as a matter of fact.

"how do I disable the navigator?"
Well, in the same way you enable it, in menu View / Navigator.

Again, the point of my post is that it opens back up at every new start, after having been opened once.

Sorry, I don't follow you. Let's say I'm working on a score, with Navigator enabled (and I don't want it anymore)
So, again:
1. menu View -> Disable Navigator
2. Save (on the computer) /Close/ Reload the score (or create a new one)
Result: on opening, the Navigator is no longer displayed.

Yep, that's the expected behaviour. On my end, it stays open upon new loading.

Musescore? No. Other applications? Yes, Chrome, because I constantly encounter bugs so I'm constantly on here.

Ok, that part fixed itself - the navigator doesn't appear on launch anymore. Mistery of faith.
