Repositioning lyrics
In the attached file, I had a section repeated, with the lyrics of two verses stacked. I decided to cut&paste that section so no repeat was needed. In the first verse I deleted the lyrics of the 2nd verse, which looks good. However, when I deleted the first verse lyrics in the second section the lyrics of the 2nd verse are still offset vertically.
I expect can fix it by deleting the 2nd verse lyrics and then retyping them, but wonder if the vertical positioning can be repaired some other way.

Lyric surgery is diffcult. You may have to go to the start of each word and backspace to remove the line break then fix up all the connecting punctuation.

Thanks for that. I thought that is what I will have to do, but wanted to ask before diving in, in case there was a simple solution.
Right-click on a lyric in Verse 2. Select >More >Same subtype >Verse 2.
In the Properties tab, change Set to verse from 2 to 1.
From the Handbook:
"Changing verse number of lyrics #
Each verse attached to the staff is allocated a verse number—with the lowest positioned at the top and highest at the bottom. (You can of course prepend a number to the beginning of each verse, but this is a visual indication only.)
To change the verse number, select the verse and adjust "Set to verse" in the Lyrics section of the Properties panel."

Wow, thank you very much for that! Once I understood what you were saying it worked like a charm!
