Invisible ties in copypasted areas are visible though marked as invis.

Create a tie between notes, make it invisible, copy the whole area including the two notes and the tie, and paste it elsewhere.
The tie will be black (dark blue if selected) yet the "visible" checkbox in the properties panel will be unchecked.
Pressing V (shortcut for toggling visibility of an item),even repeatedly, will check/uncheck that box, but it will not affect the display of the tie.
Clicking the box itself, however, will fix the problem.
