Hidden staves take up too much space on page

Hi!
I composed a score from scratch, with 4 parts.
I edited the stave properties on all four, to hide empty staves, in order to only view one melody for the first few bars.
Now, a have an unwanted empty space instead. I haven't found a way to get rid of it.

I scoured the forum and haven't found an answer to this. I will appreciate any help!

Instead of making the staves invisible use Format -> Style -> Score and set there "Hide empty staves within systems". Uncheck "Don't hide empty staves in first system". See:
