Can somone explain why?
This is a bar from Rachmaninoff's opus 3 no 3. (See attachment)
I wonder if someone (professional pianist/musician?) can explain why the first bar is written like it is and not like I would want it to be: bar 2. (The less accidentals the better)

The first bar in isolation is meaningless. Why not make it easy for us all by giving more context?
