Flags not tieing together for 16th notes
Hi! I'm trying to tie together a flag on the 16th note but every time I do it combines the entire measure. In the first image I have a flag that's connected that would be 1 E + A but later on 3 E + A it doesnt connect. Is there an easy way to write out what I'm trying to do?

First: you don't really want to tie these notes, ties connect adjecent notes of the same pito to combine their duration.
What you apparently want is to beam them together. For that check https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/beams and in this case esp. also How to add a beam over a rest
