Moving score around with mouse causes audio "hiccup"
I have been dealing with this problem for a while now and I'm honesty getting quite sick of it. It started maybe a year after I upgraded to Musescore 4. Every time I move my score around with my mouse two things happen.
1. My mouse gets extremely stuttery (this only happens specifically when I'm in Musescore)
2. Any other audio that happens to be playing (i.e. browser) blips in and out until I let go of the mouse button.
update It also happens randomly when I'm entering notes, or lyrics and when it does whatever keystroke or click I happen to be in in that split second of the "hiccup", it repeats that actions like a few dozen times within a microsecond, picture typing the letter M and having, like, 20 Ms appear in the lyrics all the sudden or 20 C7 chords or whatever else, quite annoying.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times. I have no idea which system settings to check. I have restarted my computer countless times trying to resolve it and also both of these things in different combinations, so I know it's a specifically Musescore problem and since reinstalling it didn't work, I know it's not my system. I have a feeling it's something to do with the absolutely horrendous playback engine updates in version 4 and I kind of regret ever being excited about VST or advanced mixing options at all because nothing like this ever happened with Musescore 3. And now that all my files are in version 4 I can't go back, which is quite frustrating.
If any developer sees this please do something about it!

If you are on Windows, there is a "How To" in the support section that will tell you what setting to check.
You can absolutely go back to MU3. And don't bother with re-installs. The uninstall doesn't get rid of everything. The only way to do that would be to search for and delete everything related to MU4. And like every other program on the planet, many files are hidden.

Some points:
1. https://musescore.org/en/download#System-requirements
2. Install/desinstall generally doesn't help. But try instead: menu Help/ Restore to Factory Settings
3. https://musescore.org/en/node/339915
4. Export to MusicXML format the V4 scores so that the V3 can open them.
EDIT:
5. Watching your GIF, Navigator is known (in V4) to have undesired effects.

I tried what you said with the Exclusive mode thing. It did nothing. If I try to uninstall and actually get rid of everything, would I have to delete all my scores? I have hundreds of them and I'd really prefer not to lose at that work!

Of course, save your scores. Did you try a reset of MU4?

Oh my gosh! It really was a simple as the Help > Restore Factory Settings you suggested! Thanks! :) It totally worked.

Always nice when something works. I wish it happened more often.
