Another way of selecting than by mouse pointer? MS4.2.1
Sometimes I have graphic elements on a stave, such as boxes. I cannot then select elements behind them. Usually the fix is to goto Properties > Appearance > Send to Back.
Sometimes that does not work.
Is there another way, eg getting a listbox of all the elements in a measure and selecting one that way?

Another thing that can help is to zoom in. Then sometimes (most times?) the thing "underneath" sticks out enough to click on.
If nothing else, move the thing on top by a known amount (e.g., three arrow clicks). Then move the underneath thing out from under ... or change it and leave it if that's what you want. Then move the thing on top back by the same amount.

Thank you. Can there be elements hidden by elements over them so that I would not know they were there?

Yes, that could also be the case. If you suspect this: select everything and set everything to 'visible'. In MuS 3 you could do this in the inspector with 'Set Visible'. However, it is better if you always set the checkmark under 'View -> Show invisible'. You can then still see the hidden elements on the screen in a light gray, but they are not there on the printout. And you can easily select them again.
For triplets where you have set the bracket and number to 'None', I recommend creating a new triplet somewhere in an empty area and selecting all similar elements to regain access to the bracket and/or number and activate them for everyone.
Regarding your original question: I don't know what kind of elements you mean, but Alt+Arrow right or left selects (almost ?) all elements one after the other, whether barlines, brackets, time and key signatures, articulations, hairpins, dynamics, voltas or symbols from the master palette. This works even if they are hidden or on top of each other. Start by selecting a note nearby.

I just recently did that. A ~250-measure piece that was mostly triplets. *groan*
I wanted to set all but a few of them to not display. So I intended to set ALL of them to not display, then set the small handful I wanted back to display. Realized my mistake too late and had to do exactly this to get out of it. (I had already exited and relaunched MuS, so I couldn't Undo out of it.)

Interestingly, the brackets and numbers for triplets cannot be selected (whether visible or not) using the ALT+arrow keys, although this works for practically everything else. There is a gap in the software design.
To make triplets completely invisible, you should only use the hide function. At the very least, however, either only switch off the numbers or only the brackets - never both!
