Less ugly high contrast dark mode

Right now the dark mode is yellow text on black with white borders around elements, which to me at least seems needlessly ugly (and the boxes IMO significantly clutter the display). Could we switch to something like white text with a darkish purple border around elements? Also, would it be possible for the borders to not be boxes around individual elements, but rather a single bar with dividers? Right now the borders create way more visual noise than they should because there are twice as many lines as there should be.
