Notating in Free Time
How do I get MuseScore 4 to work with free time notation? I want to notate the music without the measures but have no idea of how to do it and I've only managed to found older posts that doesn't seem to work with the latest version of MuseScore.
Does anyone know how to do this?

Make a long time signature and hide the time signature and bar lines.

I'll try it, but how do I hide the barlines?

One way is to right-click a barline. From the context menu that appears, choose Select / Similar. This should select all barlines. (Don't continue until you have successfully selected all barlines!) Then go to the Properties tab (top left) and uncheck the Visible checkbox.
I assume there are other ways. There are often multiple ways of accomplishing the same end, in MuS and most other programs.

" how do I hide the barlines?"
Right-click the staff > Staff/Part Properties > Untick "Show barlines"
