Curious detuning problem via Bluetooth
With my newer computer (Lenovo PC laptop, roughly 2 years old, running the evil Windows 11 -- not that I have any strong opinions on the latter...), I have used MuseScore 3.6.x (whatever the newest version is, but I can't remember offhand) without issue. Now with MuseScore 4.3.2.etc., I have an odd problem with playback:
When listening through the regular Lenovo speakers or my Onn "beans" earbuds, the pitch is fine (the latter via Bluetooth). But when I listen via a Crosley phonograph capable of receiving Bluetooth, then playing through my good stereo, the pitch and tempo go down significantly!
The piece I'm working on is pitched in C Major (based on A=440), but via the Crosley Bluetooth, the pitch dips below a Bb! I've never seen anything like this, and with my perfect pitch, it drives me absolutely barmy! I don't really have a good way to check how much slower off of the Tempo=110 the tempo is, unfortunately.
I'm assuming the processor clock is being severely affected, but why would it be affected by one Bluetooth app and not the other?
I made a .wav file out of the song, and the pitch during the .wav playback is fine, no matter how I listen to it. But not so when I play it via the score, and just through the Crosley version of the Bluetooth.
My only conclusion is that MuseScore 4.3.2 is not playing nicely with the clock in my processor, or is dragging the clock down significantly. One other thing to mention is that I only have a voice, pad synth, fretless bass, and 5-piece drumset for parts (one of my smaller compositions in terms of number of instruments), and all are of the MS sound variety, no MIDI instruments in addition.
Any thoughts or workarounds?
Thanks in advance!
Eric
