Why won't MuseScore playback?

I'm on a new device after my last one got destroyed, so I downloaded MS4 on it for the first time and the playback feature isn't working. Whenever I place a note, it does not play back any sound, and when I try to play the piece, it stays stuck on the first measure and doesn't play anything. What can I do to fix this issue?
