Add a new instrument. I wish to add a concertina sound file to my edition of Musesco
re. I can record my concertina to a wav or mp3 file but do not know how to add it to the sound files on Musescore.

Have you read the Handbook section about Soundfonts?

You would have to use 3rd party software like Polyphone to create an sf2 format file.
I don't know if it is any good, but have you tried the MuseScore concertina?
