Does not repeat second time
My score has two sections, each of which has 1st and 2nd repeats. On playback, the first section plays fine (plays to end of section then repeats). The second section does not repeat. What am I doing wrong?

First, this section has no start repeat barline.
Second, the play count of mesure 16 is not set to 2.

Thank you HildeK. You were quite right; I have rewritten the piece and it now plays as it should.
However, Musescore set it up the wrong way, not I.
Starting from scratch and following your advice, I created an empty score of twice as many measures as needed, then put in appropriate start and return repeat barlines. I made sure Musescore set the repeat counts correctly (it did). Finally, I forced it into two sections with a system break.
Perhaps a more sophisticated user would have done it differently. My initial dependence on Musescore to set it up right was my big mistake.

A start repeat is not needed, it implies the 1st measure of a section.
An end repeat is not needed, it implies the last measure of a section.
A repeat count > 1 though is needed, and 2 is the default

Then it is no repeat and you can set no repeat count!
I think we always need an end repeat sign, but not necessarily a start repeat sign.

Hmm, OK, seems I was wrong there, at least Mu3 doesn't work that way indeed
