UKULELE DIAGRAMS from Scratch

• Sep 2, 2024 - 16:43

I don't really need chord diagrams myself anymore, but it is helpful for my many students who haven't memorized them yet. I've tried modifying the fretboard diagrams from guitar to ukulele. It works for a single symbol in the score, but when I drag that symbol to a new location from the palette menu it gives me different dot placements and I have to edit it again. It also doesn't reflect the changes in the palettes tab. I think I'd like to just start from scratch, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to do it. I've looked at the documentation and it wasn't really helpful in this regard.

There is a really old ukulele file you can import from the forum on the official website (pre version 3), but it doesn't give chord names in addition to the diagrams, and I have a lot of custom chords I like to use that sound great on ukulele (particularly add9 and maj7 chords), so I'd love to construct my own library if I can figure it out.

Any help?

SOLVED:

Marc Sabatella: "Once you’ve customized a diagram in your score, Ctrl+Shift+drag it back to a palette. You can use se the “Add palettes” button to create a new palette for your ukulele chords. After adding a new palette item, right-click it to access its properties where you can give it a name that appears as a tooltip when hovering on it."
