On your images, you added tremolo to single notes (i.e. the fourth first symbols in the Tremolos palette, Through stem) vs. tremolo between notes (i.e. the fourth last symbols, between notes) - as shown on the GIF above.
It is this "between notes" that activates the Style feature.

No. Apparently you didn't read the thread. The Style feature activates itself if the Tremolo symbol between notes has been chosen; it doesn't activate at all if the Tremolo symbol is the one that applies to single notes, through the stem. Or in the case I showed in the first answer with the GIF.

But these style options only apply to tremolos between notes
