Are you asking how to add a flute instrument or simply how to use the software?
If you want to add a flute to a new project, then when you create a new score, under the Choose Instruments section, look under Woodwinds and flute is the second option from the top. Double click it and click Done. You now have a score with a flute instrument. Alternatively, if you want to add flute to an existing project, then go to the Instruments panel, click Add Instrument, and then double-click Flute under the Woodwinds section. As before, it is second from the top. Click Done once you've added it and you will have a new staff assigned to a flute.
