Changing instruments
Hi brains trust
I have been on a long journey attempting to arrange a string quartet accompaniment for Vedi se t'amo, the soprano aria by Haydn from "Armida". First I tried to import the piano and voice score and extract from that, but that was failing so I did as someone suggested in that process and inserted staves in between the piano right and left hand. That was problematic. I pretty much arranged from scratch. However, now I am attempting to extract parts from the score and its not happy, I fear because all the voices are misnamed. I attach some screen shots, Can anyone help.

This shows what the voicing looks like

Viewing your attachments, you show "Voice" as one instrument and your other staves appear to have been added by using "Add staff" on some other (unnamed) instrument - rather than creating separate, individual instruments using the "Add" button located at the top of the Instruments panel.

Okay, so if your notation on the staves is good and you wish to extract parts, an easy way is to create a new score using the string quartet template and add a new voice instrument...
then copy/paste your good notation onto this new score.
Parts will then easily export.
Another way is to add new string instruments (do not use "Add staff") into your existing score, copy/paste into those added string instruments and then delete the unnecessary staves.

Oh many thanks! I did try to copy and paste individual parts into a new file but it did not work. Is it just using control C and V like in Word?

Yes, first select the range of notes you wish to copy, see:
