Why are there only single brass and woodwinds in the instruments, no sections?

There may be outliers, but in general I only see single instruments for brass/woodwinds. Like Horn in F, Bassoon, etc. But for strings there's Violins 1 or Violins 1 (Section). I see I can manually select a section sound in the mixer, so the functionality is ultimately the same. I'm just curious why the instruments panel only includes single brass/woodwinds.

Good question. There are often only two (or three) Woodwind instruments in each part.
(eg: Flute 1 and Flute 2) You can use voice 1 and voice 2 on the same stave - and add a
new stave for a third (or 4th voice). This would hardly be called a Section - where everyone is playing the same part. In the Strings, you may have a dozen First violins (which is a section) and 10 Second Violins (making another section).
Does this make sense to you? Jeff

Multiple trumpets, horns, and trombones are available. But only single woodwinds. The 1 or 2 designation for strings does not refer to desks, but rather playing style. 1 is more expressive than 2.
