MuseScore won't keep update - continually reverts

Hello
I have updated my MuseScore from 4.0.0.223472200 to 4.4.3 several times over the last 6 months and every time I go back to use MuseScore it is back to 4.0.0.223472200
Could you tell me why this would be happening please? What can I do about it?
