Fixing rhythms

• Jan 2, 2025 - 18:23

I'm fixing up a score that has the bar count correct, and the melody notes (vocal) mostly correct but has serious rhythmic well,..... let's say oversimplifcation. Is there some way I can fix the rhythms without just deleting it and losing all the lyrics and have to put it back in.

Based on your description, I think I would insert a measure before/after the measure that you want to replace. Notate the corrected rhythm/notes, add the lyrics and chords, all with the original sitting right there to be referred to. Once you have it correct, delete the original.

And remember Ctrl+Z (Undo). Imagine, you "delete the original" and suddenly realize, "RATS! I forgot to include that complex chord, or that weirdly spelled word in the lyrics." Not a problem: press Ctrl+Z to Undo the deletion. finish the notation again, and then delete again.
