The creation of backup copies is your own responsibility - as in every application.
To delete scores, you can use “File -> Open recent -> Clear recent files”, but then everything is gone.
If you want to delete a single entry, you must edit
C:\Users\{YourUsername}\AppData\Local\Musescore\Musescore4\recent_file.json"
But this does not remove the files, only the link list to the files.
