OK thanks but i don't have Sibelius myself. I have been sent a Sibelius file (*.sib) to amend the part has more than one note on many stems and i find that difficult to read at playing speed so i want to remove one note.

Ask the sender for a MusicXML file (*.musicxml, *.xml, *.mxl).

Sibelius 7 has onboard MusicXML export, but Sibelius 1 → 6 requires the Dolet plug-in.
