One shortcut for changing dotted and normal note sizes

Could there be one shortcut that changes note size for dotted and undotted notes? Currently the Q and W shortcuts don’t work with both kinds. I mentioned Noteflight’s method; it makes things a step or two simpler or faster over time to have one shortcut to change note size, and one to toggle the dot.

OK. Math is not my strong point. So stay with me. I think.
I have a dotted 1/4 note. I select it an hit "W". The result is a dotted 1/2 note. Double the original note. There is a problem in the shortcuts menu. It says SHIFT+W should do this. But all it does is add the value of the dot. And when there is no dot, SHIFT+ W or Q just does odd stuff.
The point is that I think that W or Q work even if a dot is involved. At least on my system.
