Triplet bracketing, need to go from single bracket over 6 triplet 8th notes to two brackets, one for each beat in 2/4
Hi - I need to be able to have a bracketed 3, showing each beat should be a triplet. Rebeaming isn't working. Tuplet properties isn't working. I have looked through the forum and tried difference things. I need each triplet to have a 3 and bracket and not going over the entire bar like it is now. Help!

I figured this out after opening a new doc and trial and error.
It does involve deleting what is already there. Click in a bar or multiple bars, click the quarter note in note entry, and then you have quarter rests in the bars instead of half rests. Then click on each quarter rest and press Command-3 or whatever that is for a PC, and it gives 8th note rests under the triplet bracket. Same for beat two, then each beat has a triplet bracket instead of a single triplet bracket over the entire bar, which is incorrect notation if using 8th notes.

With that understanding, read the Handbook section on tuplets (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/tuplets) and you will likely never have problems with any tuplets again.

So helpful! Thanks not after I figured it out by myself did the directions in the manual make sense to me. As I said, I had looked at everything I could and could not understand or figure it out. So linking the handbook, especially after I said I figured it out, is what we call “passive aggressive”.

Not "passive aggressive" at all, trying to be helpful.
Since you had figured it out only about 30 minutes after you posted the first time, I didn't have the opportunity to direct you to this Handbook entry. However, now that you have figured it out, that understanding will let you understand the Handbook entry more completely so you won't have problems in future.
So, if you don't want help, don't post. (Now that "is what we call passive aggressive" :-)
