Where are my scores?

• Feb 17, 2025 - 15:13

I had more than 80 scores on Musescore and almost all are intraceble now (save for four). I filed them on my desktop as .png, but I cannot re-open them on Musescore as .png is not accepted. I have a free account; is this Musescore's way to make me buy an account?

Do you mean Musescore Studio music notation software or musescore.com website?

Musescore studio music notation software is free and does not require any account.

Musescore studio works with mscz files.
PNG is a graphic file format, it is just an image. Musescore studio cannot work with such files.

You posted this on musescore.org, which supports the MuseScore Studio desktop application. No account necessary; no payment possible.

From your description, it sounds like you are talking about the musescore.com score sharing website which does have pay options. Read How and where to ask for support.
