Can't get decrescendo to play
I'm fairly new to MS, so forgive me if this is elementary, but I've searched for the answer, and I can't seem to get it to work.
I've attached a score example. Basically, I'm just trying to have a whole note start at forte and decrescendo to p, pp, or whatever. And for some reason, I can't seem to get it to do that.
Just in case it matters, when I open the inspector for the decrescendo hairpin, the "Playback" button is grayed out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Part of the problem is that this is a piano score. Piano can't play a decrescendo hairpin. You changed the sound to to cello but you didn't change the instrument. On way to fix this would be to create actual cello staves and copy the music into them. Then the hairpins work. I didn't try doing an actual instrument change from the Text palette. but you might.

Ah ... I didn't think of that. Thanks so much for the info. I'll give it a shot!
